How We Work

Decorating should always be fun, and decorative curbing is no different. Lonestar Edge Works makes the process straightforward from the first conversation to the final cleanup. Our process was built to deliver results that look great, last through Texas weather, and make your property easier to maintain. We keep it clear, we keep it clean, and we keep it built to last!

Our Simple Process

Step 1: On-Site Consultation

Every project starts with a walk-through. We come to your property, listen to what you’re looking for, and take note of any curves, beds, or slopes in your landscape. We also look for signs of expansive soil, which is common in the San Antonio area. Based on what we see, we’ll recommend the right layout, reinforcement options, and finish to match both your goals and your budget.

Step 2: Design & Customization

Once we’ve mapped out the space, we talk through design. This includes choosing from our selection of colors, stamps, and curbing styles. Whether you’re going for subtle or standout, we’ll help you find the right look to complement your home or business. We keep your preferences front and center—no pressure, just honest input to help you make the best choice.

Step 3: Ground Prep & Removal

Before we pour any concrete, we prep the site. That means removing any existing edging, trimming the grass, and cutting a clean line for the curbing path. If your old edging is worn out or buried, we’ll take care of it. Our team works efficiently, respecting your property and minimizing disruption to your yard.

Step 4: Installation with Reinforcement

This is where the real work begins. We mix and extrude concrete directly on-site, shaping it to fit the layout we planned together. The Lonestar Difference means going beyond the standard—we use mesh and steel cable throughout the process for added strength and durability, a level of reinforcement few competitors offer. To counter the effects of expansive soil, we apply targeted techniques that give your curbing the best chance of long-term stability. Our team stays focused, precise, and clean—because a sharp finish starts with solid workmanship.

Step 5: Final Touches & Walkthrough

After the curbing sets, we clean up the site and invite you to walk through the project with us. We’ll review the work, answer questions, and explain what to expect as the concrete cures. This is also where we provide tips on how to keep your curbing looking great over time. If anything needs adjusting, we take care of it before we leave.
